Hi inme , my daughter Shreemayi (renamed as cokkie, in the camp :)) went to coorg C3 for the first time. She came back yday night. Since then she has not stopped telling about things that happened in the camp. Also she celebrated her birthday there. She was in loss of words how awesome it was. Now I am feeling short of word to express my joy and gratitude about giving her the lifetime experience and taking care of all the kids so well. Our heartfelt thanks to all the instructors or rather should I call them friends :). A big thank to all of you…
My son Rishi Ram and his friend got off the bus and they wouldn't stop raving about their camp! it was their first time away without any contact with the family and I expected that my son might come back with mixed feelings! But they seemed to have already planned their next year's camp to Tons!!!!!!! I also would like to mention that I made a big deal about his severe food allergies to the inme team, who reassured me of the care they would take... And he is back without an incident! Thank you inme and all the wonderful instructors for such a lovely time my son had! It means a ton!
Elder son Aadish grew into a confident and strong young man from a frail, shy child by learning basic survival skills, rock climbing etc at Uroli, Tons and Sitalakhet. Young Arjun, already an extrovert and energetic child, started attending camps at age 10.
The high point of our journey with InMe was last year when Arjun did GABR. Being the youngest in the group, we were little anxious about him completing the ride. Sarabjeet and his team was great driving force. They kept him motivated till the end and he came back a refined teenager. When people praise our children for their active and cheerful appearance we only say "Thank you InMe"
Inme - I am glad it's in me , in my kids , in my family and friends. Last year when I sent Dhruv for the first time there were worries with excitement. With no communication for 9 days along a sandstorm I had butterflies in my stomach almost everyday. And then when I hugged him tightly on his return he whispered in my ears, "Mom , I'm going again " And that said it all. He could not stop talking about the adventures, activities, fun, friends, mentors, the night sky lit with stars, the yummy mangoes, the rafting, cliff jumping, the amazing storm (acc to him), the activity each one teach one and most importantly life without gadgets. Thank you team INME.
I was terribly jealous, of course. It looked like my kids had a better time at their Inme camp than the best European holiday we had taken them for. For me, who prided myself on being the coolest parent on the planet, it was a big blow.
While I am jealous that the kids would remember their Inme experience over the Rs.5 lac Europe trip, I will be always grateful to Inme for bringing out the best in my children, making them better human beings and most importantly, for inculcating some fantastic values in them.
